Ashok Jain honored with the prestigious Vivekananda International Relations Peace Award
The ceremony was held at the Hotel Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai
Mumbai, 12 Sep 2025 In a grand awards ceremony organized by the Chakra Vision India Foundation in Mumbai, individuals who have made remarkable contributions in the fields of agriculture, science and technology, sustainable development, economic contribution to the nation’s development, and humanitarian work, crossing national borders for global welfare and progress, were honored. Every year, Indian industries that have established their work in more than 10 countries around the world are honored with the Vivekananda International Relations Peace Award. For the year 2025-26, in recognition of Jain Irrigation’s work in agriculture, for farmers, and for societal benefit Mr. Ashok Jain, Chairman of Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd., was conferred with the Vivekananda International Relations Peace Award at a grand ceremony held in the auditorium of the Hotel Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai today.
Along with Mr. Jain, the award was also presented to Mata Amritanandamayi Ji, Chancellor of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham; Baba Kalyani, Chairman of Bharat Forge; Vikram Shroff, Chairman of UPL Group; Nadir Godrej, Chairman of Godrej Industries; Madhukar Parekh, Chairman of Pidilite Industries; Dr. Huzaifa Khorakiwala, Chairman of Wockhardt Ltd.; Manish Jhawar, Chairman of QC Ukpaa Technologies; Vishwas Jain, Executive Director of CEG Group; and Vishal Chordia, Director of Suhana Masala, for their work in various fields.
Last year, Mr. Ratan Tata, Chairman of the Tata Group, was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. The chief guest for the event was Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan Dr. Manmohan Sharma. Mr. Ashok Jain was presented with the award by senior Indian Army officer Lieutenant General Arun Ananthanarayanan, famous film actor Jackie Shroff, Padma Shri Dr. G. D. Yadav, Ravi Iyer, and Veer Awards convener Gagan Malhotra. Mr. Atul Jain, Joint Managing Director of Jain Irrigation, was also present on this occasion.The event included two panel discussions where various dignitaries expressed their views.
This prestigious ceremony is held every year on September 11th. This day is celebrated to commemorate the historic speech delivered by Swami Vivekananda at the "World’s Parliament of Religions" in Chicago in 1893. Through that speech, he presented India’s philosophy of peace, unity, and harmony to the world. From it, he delivered the eternal message of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – The world is one family."
The chief mentors of Chakra Vision India Foundation, Mumbai, are Gaurang Das, Mohanji, Acharya Lokesh Muniji, Padma Shri G.D. Yadav, Padma Shri Dr. Indira Ahuja, Ravi Iyer, Manoj Tiwari, and Vinay Sahasrabuddhe. The advisory committee includes Mrs. Sarika Panhalkar, National President of Veer Awards, along with R. Venkataraman, Malav Shroff, A. Rajasekaran, Chandramohan Pupala, and Ashok Motwani, among other dignitaries.
