Jain Irrigation Receives TOI Ecopreneur Honours 2025 for Biodiversity & Water Conservation Leadership
New Delhi, Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd. has been honoured with the TOI Ecopreneur Honours 2025 by The Times of India Group, in recognition of its long-standing leadership in sustainable agriculture, biodiversity conservation, and climate-resilient water management. The award acknowledges Jain Irrigation’s integrated watershed development efforts across more than 2,500 acres, including soil conservation, afforestation, and the creation of rainwater harvesting and groundwater recharge structures. The award was received on behalf of the company by Mr. Athang Jain, President, Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd., at the ceremony held in New Delhi.
Jain Irrigation’s agri-tech solutions have empowered over 10 million smallholder farmers across India and globally, enabling the adoption of sustainable practices, boosting productivity, and achieving long-term profitability. At the core of this transformation lies the company’s pioneering work in micro-irrigation, which has redefined how agriculture interacts with natural resources. Jain Irrigation’s products have delivered a water saving impact of 143 billion cubic metres, generated energy savings of 26,395 GWh, and reduced 19 million tonnes of CO₂-equivalent emissions. By delivering water and nutrients directly to the plant root zone, these technologies minimise waste, enhance yields, and preserve soil health.
This commitment to environmental stewardship extends across landscapes and communities. Landmark infrastructure such as the Girna River dam has supported over 1,200 farming families and nearly 4,000 acres of farmland, while improving rural access and transport. The company’s conservation zones now host over 800 species, including 21 near-threatened birds and animals like the Woolly-necked Stork and European Roller. In parallel, Jain Irrigation’s outreach programs have facilitated the distribution of more than 75,000 seed balls and saplings across 22 villages, fostering a culture of ecological awareness and shared responsibility.
The TOI Ecopreneur Honours is a flagship initiative by The Times of India, designed to spotlight businesses that deliver measurable environmental outcomes through innovation and accountability. By celebrating such efforts, the initiative encourages Indian industry to embed sustainability into its growth narrative.
Grounded in its core values of regenerative agriculture, nature-positive development, and rural empowerment, Jain Irrigation continues to scale practical solutions that address both environmental and livelihood challenges. As climate pressures intensify, the company remains committed to shaping a greener, more resilient, and more inclusive future for Indian agriculture.
