Is it a fit & forget system?

To some extent, yes. But the user has to check for error message, make changes in program if required & inspect the connection & the state of the system periodically. Ensure water level in tanks, fertilizer stock solution.

What are the different types of automation

We can operate the system according to time, volumetric basis or sensor basis. Water meter is essential when working on volumetric basis.

What more about fertigation ?

One can inject liquid fertilizers simply on time basis. For precision, one can select volumetric basis or a fully automatic system with EC/ PH control.

What about the voltage & the power supply?

The controllers & valves require 24 volts AC supply for their operation. Sometimes, 12 volts DC systems can be used. The power supply required must be 230 VAC & regulated. Earthing, lighting arrestor & other protection devices such as voltage stabilizer, online UPS is essential as suggested by JISL.

Is it essential to lay conduit pipes for the wires?

Yes, because they serve as a good protection for the wires.

Are only hardwired systems the solution, or some wireless systems available?

Yes, of course wireless systems like modem support, VH For cellular are available. But one must verify the licensing rules and regulations as applicable.
