News @ Jains - D&B Rolta Corporate award for Jain IrrigationJalgaon, 27 April, 2011 - JISL President for Finance Manoj Lodha received "Dun & Bradstreet – Rolta Corporate Award 2010" on 26th April at Mumbai on behalf of the Company. Entrepreneur Rajesh Mirchandani gave away these awards in a function held at Trident Hotel in Mumbai. CEO of Dun & Bradstreet Kaushal Sampat and Senior Vice-President of Canon India Alok Bhardwaj and other dignitaries were also present at this ceremony. Indias leading 500 companies producing several products and 45 companies from service sector were considered for this top honour at this function. The selection for the award has been made from the field of plastics and plastics production. Jain Irrigation has definitely proved its superiority in plastic production. Jain Irrigation, leading company in India in plastics processing industry, is the pioneer in plasticulture technology suitable for Indian farmers. It proved the scientific use of plastics in the production of drip irrigation, sprinkler irrigation, pipes, and PVC sheets. This technology has underlined the significant contribution of Jain Irrigation in the ecological balance. The Company has achieved the magic of bringing more land area under cultivation with less water due to the use of micro-irrigation system, pipes and drip system manufactured with the assistance of plastics. Jain Irrigation has made available technology needed for development of agriculture in India to farmers from the decade of 1980 and thus made an important contribution to the literacy of the agricultural sector. Jain Irrigation did not only stressed alone on the product sale but it gave a new vision of high technology in agriculture to farmers. Therefore, there was not only saving of water but increase of income of farmers also due to the increase in land area. The fact that Jain Irrigation has always undertaken several projects for corporate social responsibility was also considered while giving this award.
